Falcon Plant is a brand new Plant Hire company, registered in November by Bristol business partners, Aaron Walsh and Nick Greenwood. The pair worked in the industry as business contacts for 11 years, before deciding to launch their new venture together.
As with many new start-ups, Falcon Plant faced a significant initial outlay to purchase essential equipment needed to get the business up and running. Amongst other vehicles and equipment, the company needed six Hitachi excavators ranging from 5 to 14 tonnes costing around £360,000.
Hitachi Machinery were able to finance two of these machines but could not offer finance for all six. Frustratingly, the banks were reluctant to provide funds, even taking into account the past experience and solid credentials of the two businessmen.
Hitachi Machinery referred the business partners to Ignition, who were able to swiftly arrange finance for the additional four excavators on a Hire Purchase package, partly by using its own funds, and also by accessing its large panel of external funding partnerships. This ensured that the new venture had all of the equipment ready for immediate hire.
Aaron Walsh comments:
“It’s great to be up and running, with all our machinery out on hire. We can look to the future and are already planning further expansion in the first quarter of next year.
“I can’t speak highly enough of Ignition and would definitely recommend them to others. They provide a very valuable service to help new businesses get off to a good start.”
